Grace Kocher

Artist Biography

Grace Kocher grew up in the historical town of Stillwater, Minnesota where her love for art started from a young age. Grace started practicing regularly when she was in her early teens after becoming increasingly inspired by the art of Disney films and her daily life in the country with horses. It was from this time that she taught herself how to draw characters, use acrylics and watercolor paint, and dabble in the animation process. 

In 2017, Grace attended the University of Northwestern - St. Paul, where she studied Studio Art as her primary major, adopting it later after switching from Biology. Being enamored in both the sciences and the arts, Grace has combined the two often, working as an illustrator for a local Clinic, along with being inspired by Creation as a whole.

Within her time at University, Grace’s work was chosen to be apart of two Student Juried Art Expositions, showcasing her dried floral sculptures. Grace graduated one year early with a Studio Art and Bible major, along with a Biology minor. 

Currently, Grace finds inspiration, not only in the natural world, but in connection. As a content creator, she has found a common theme of nostalgia woven into the art of Disney characters and design. With this, she has created portfolio that followers and onlookers can have a hand in creating, using their suggestions to bring favorite Disney characters to life on paper. 

Furthermore, Grace’s identity is intertwined with life as an equestrian, spending most of her life competing in the English discipline. Horses are among the most common subjects for her work, influenced by her daily life within the horse world. 

You can often find Grace looking for inspiration in the Florida country beside her horse, from watching old Disney films, and on Walt Disney World property.
